Smriti Amar

Master of Science in Financial Analytics

Smriti Amar

Within the Dayalbagh community in northern India, Smriti Amar is known for her social work and leadership skills.

She has spent over a decade uplifting her community, where they grow crops and distribute free food to community members in need. She taught underprivileged children and helped clean waterways to improve the local water quality.

At USF, Amar has taken those lessons of service and empowerment and applied them. She is a graduate student in the Master of Science in financial analytics program where she maintains a 4.0 GPA.

She is committed to making a difference with data-driven solutions. One of her research projects addresses the gender equity challenges in STEM fields. She is exploring solutions through focus groups and data analysis.

She is applying what she's learned in class in the real world. She has three years of work experience as a business analyst, where she leads a team of 10.

Her professional experience includes an internship at Nucor, the largest steel manufacturing company in the U.S. and a Fortune 500 leader in the industry. There, she worked on Power BI and data modeling. She designed a dynamic scatter plot to enhance quality test reports. She also presented key findings to leadership and showed her ability to translate data into strategic decision-making.

At USF, she continues to mentor peers, support faculty research, and engage in outreach initiatives.

Graduating in December 2025, she aspires to leverage her education and skills to drive meaningful change in business and society.
