Concentration Description:

The M.A. in Global Sustainability concentration in Sustainable Business will provide a foundation for designing sustainable organizations and businesses. Organizations and businesses from all sectors need to develop sustainable practices and models to minimize their environmental footprint and maximize their social responsibility to all stakeholders to meet the requirements of a sustainable, low carbon economy. The goal of this concentration is to provide participants with the knowledge, literacy, skills and tools they need to create more sustainable organizations.

Concentration Courses:

  • IDS 6163 Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) for Business Sustainability (Credit Hours: 3)

  • IDS 6239 Principles of Six Sigma for Sustainability (Credit Hours: 3)

Choose one of the following courses:

  • ENT 6606 New Product Development (Credit Hours: 3)
  • GEB 6457 Ethics, Law, and Sustainable Business Practices (Credit Hours: 3)

  • IDS 6206  Energy and Resources: Policy, Society and Innovation (Credit Hours: 3)

    Oversees sustainability programs and ensures alignment with corporate goals.

    Evaluates environmental and social governance data for sustainable investment decisions.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Coordinator ($60,000 – $90,000)
    Develops initiatives that enhance a company’s social and environmental impact.
  • Green Supply Chain Manager ($85,000 – $115,000)
    Reduces environmental footprints in supply chains.
  • Sustainability Reporting Specialist ($75,000 – $105,000)
    Manages sustainability disclosures and ESG reporting.
