Welcome to USF Supplier Development and Engagement

At the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ (USF), we recognize the pivotal role that supplier development and engagement initiatives play in fostering a thriving and sustainable business ecosystem. These initiatives are designed to cultivate strong, mutually beneficial partnerships between the university and local businesses, particularly small businesses, by offering opportunities for collaboration, growth, and capacity building.

As part of our commitment to enhancing these efforts, USF has introduced a specialized construction-focused Mentor-Protégé program. This initiative is designed to provide small businesses in the construction sector with the support and expertise necessary to navigate the complexities of the industry. Through this program, small businesses are exposed to experienced mentors and educators who offer guidance on everything from operational efficiency to contract bidding and project management.

The impact of the Mentor-Protégé program extends far beyond the individual businesses involved. It is a program that strengthens the local business community as a whole, empowering Tampa Bay's small businesses to thrive and expand. By equipping these businesses with the skills and resources they need to succeed, we are not only enhancing their competitiveness in the market but also contributing to the economic vitality of the entire region.

Through USF’s supplier development and engagement initiatives, and the newly launched construction-focused Mentor-Protégé program, we are driving innovation, creating jobs, and fostering long-term success for small businesses across the Tampa Bay area. These efforts are essential to building a diverse, resilient, and dynamic business community that can adapt and excel in an ever-evolving marketplace.
